A Letter to Vince Young (Addendum)

In a post, originally dated January 4, 2006 (found here), I wrote a public letter to Vince Young, asking him to consider going pro. Reading that letter today, I didn't realize how awkwardly off I would be. At the same time, I didn't realize how amazingly well that would work out for me.

In this letter I asked him to consider going pro early, as to give my Ohio State Buckeyes a chance to win that September in Austin versus his Texas Longhorns. Vince listened, and Ohio State was able to beat his alma mater due to poor quarterback play on the part of his replacement.

I told him he'd be selfish to come back for a shot at a Heisman, because Tedd Ginn Jr., from Ohio State, would win the Heisman this year anyway. Instead, Troy Smith, from Ohio State, won this year's most coveted award.

Finally, at the end I told him that the whole Buckeye Nation would thank him by buying his Houston Texans jersey. With the first pick in this year's draft, the Texas took some fat d-lineman. Young went to my hometown Titans, and has since led them to the brink of playoff contention. Note: as of this post, the Titans needed to win their last game, and hope three other teams lost.

So I'd like to use this public forum to officially thank Vince Young.
